"God damn it, you’ve got to be kind."

kurt

- Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007. "So it goes."
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’”
God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, 1974

He was something special, and even more so to me because he grew up in my hometown. There've been a number of talented people to leave my hometown and head to NYC, but Kurt Vonnegut was the Mark Twain of Indy.

"God damn it, you've got to be kind." I think my father-in-law might've stolen that one from him; more than a few times.

RIP, Kurt Vonnegut, your writing will forever be esteemed.
