Yawriats Ot Nevaeh

heaven

For years there's been much debate whether Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven was in fact a love letter to Satan when played backwards:
Forward: "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now, it's just a spring clean for the May queen. Yes there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run there's still time to change the road you're on."

Reverse: "Oh here's to my sweet Satan. The one whose little path would make me sad, whose power is satan. He'll give those with him 666, there was a little toolshed where he made us suffer, sad Satan."
You can hear this for yourself (along with backwards versions of Imagine, Another One Bites the Dust, Hotel California and the Pokemon Rap!) by clicking the stairway above.

However, for something sort of completely different, click on the stairway below. It's the work of Thomas Dimuzio. He took the original Stairway, "reversed it, cut it up into quarter-notes and then reassembled it in forward order to retain the melody. Dimuzio claims that the resulting file contains exactly 666 regions." (via WFMU's Beware of the Blog)
