But first, some history:
My only real disagreement with Stewart is when he uses this excuse for saying some of the same things Maddow says but gives himself a free pass: "You’re in the playing field; I'm in the stands yelling things." Sadly, since our news media is so fucking lame, Stewart by default is on the field. He's become one of the few voices of sanity "reporting" the news (yes, I know he's not a reporter, but many people do get their news from The Daily Show, for better or worse). But overall, I applaud Mr. Stewart and seriously cannot imagine our world without him (certainly I would not have survived the last decade).
