You're Gonna Love Vince Shlomi's Nuts...Or Else
This is particularly creepy considering Vince's recent, horrifying run-in with the law:

"GOP Stripped Flu Pandemic Preparedness From Stimulus"
via The Huffington Post:
Remember way back in the day, President Obama delivered his Not Really The State Of The Union address, and the GOP trotted out Future Of The Republican Party Supra-Genius Bobbly Jindal to provide a rebuttal? Well, we all had some laughs, didn't we? Mainly because Jindal was all: "They want to spend stimulus money on volcano monitoring? Why everyone knows that the Hill Witch keeps tabs on our volcanoes by floating chicken bones in her own intestinal ichor!" And then Alaska's Mount Redoubt erupted, suggesting there might be something to this "let's monitor volcanoes with government-funded science" idea. And people wonder why I hate Republicans. Let's make sure none of them get their swine flu shots:
Well, as it turns out, volcano monitoring wasn't the only worthwhile public safety program that was deemed extravagant in the stimulus package, funding for pandemic preparation was axed as well. And playing a critical role was Susan Collins -- for whom the necessity of obtaining her vote is in inverse proportion to the intelligence she shows in policy making...

The Rude Pundit, Once Again, Knocks It Out of the Park
Yesterday, thousands of poor and middle-class people were manipulated into helping rich people keep more of their money. It's sort of like going to a Yankees game, but without the souvenirs. You can read the rest here (but you might be offended by some of the metaphors).
(snip)
The whole day was filled with Fox-fanned falsehoods, starting with the whole acronym the protests adopted after "teabag" became the subject of mucho deserved mocking. "Taxed Enough Already" presupposes that taxes will be raised. And it seems that the tea partyers simply think that Barack Obama is lying to them when he says that the taxes for the vast, vast majority of Americans are lower under his plan. (On his radio show, Alan Colmes was screaming at callers who kept insisting that Obama was raising taxes for everyone.) The protests were against some fantasy administration, a sandwich of fascism on a socialism bun covered in a secret sauce of tyranny. It's like prayer: you can't really prove that it matters, but, hey, someone told you it was a good idea to do it, so down on your knees you go.

"I think you might be confusing tyranny with losing."
Last night's Daily Show and Colbert Report combined for one of the most entertaining yet informative hours in recent memory. Jon Stewart had a great interview with Anwar Sadat's widow, Jehan Sadat, a wrap-up of President Obama's European adventure:

Ladies & Gentlemen, Academy Award Winning Actor Nicolas Cage
Seriously, this is his best work since Adaptation and Matchstick Men which he followed with two (two!) National Treasure movies, something called Lord of War, The Weather Man, World Trade Center, The Wicker Man remake (why oh why?), Ghost Rider (!), Next, Bangkok Dangerous and Knowing. Still to come within the next two years: Kick-Ass, G-Force, Astro Boy, the Bad Lieutenant remake (why oh why?!?), Season of the Witch and The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
I think Nick is trying to set some sort of record for the number of bad movies made within a 5-6 year period.
