Jon Stewart: "There's a fear out there that seems irrational." Lou Dobbs: "What can I say? I'm a douchebag." (Editor's Note: I'm paraphrasing)

(At least Dobbs puts some blame at the feet of the Bush Administration. But he's still a total douche.)

Everything You Need To Know About Elmer Fudd's Joe Lieberman's Threat To Filibuster The Health Care Reform Bill:

The Lieberman family's financial ties to the health industry are no secret, yet their full extent remains unknown. During her husband's 2006 reelection campaign, Hadassah Lieberman's employment as a "senior counselor" to Hill & Knowlton, one of the world’s biggest lobbying firms, briefly erupted as an issue, especially because the clients she served were in the controversial pharmaceutical and insurance sectors. Exactly what she did for those clients has never been disclosed.
Yet the putz who used to call himself a Democrat said today on Fox News (where else?), "If the public option plan is in there, as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote."

A "matter of conscience" or a matter of his family's bank account?

Connecticut has to dump this guy, pronto. Sadly, this cannot happen until the asshole is up for reelection in 2012. You can sign a pledge to work to defeat Lieberboy here.

Stupak is as Stupak Does

("Excuse me ladies, can I control your uterus?")

By now, you've probably heard that a certain little Health Care bill passed in the House. And that its passing was reportedly enabled by a ginormous amendment written by one Bart Stupak (D-Mich) that basically tells women who need an abortion to go fuck themselves. Yet still, a whole bunch of Democrats voted against the final bill, the majority of which represent previously Republican districts and are up for reelection in 2010. So, in reality, the Democrats simply caved to the right, weakened the bill and still couldn't convince 39 Democrats to vote in favor of the bill (to be fair, one of those Democrats was Dennis Kucinich who voted against the bill because it favors insurance companies too much).

TBogg has suggested a way to tell the 64 Democrats who voted for the Stupak amendment the same thing they told the women of the United States: Go Fuck Yourselves. Go here to donate to Planned Parenthood in Stupak's honor (or in honor of one of these Congressman) and make sure you fill out the section that sends acknowledgments to their offices. Here's Stupak's address:
Congressman Bart Stupak
2268 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515
You can look up the other addresses here.
